Western Ave
Children's Center
Welcome!
Western Avenue Children’s Center (WACC) offers full-time, part-time, and part-week child care for children aged 2 months-5 years. The program opened in June 2023 and began welcoming families in just a few classrooms. We are planning for 6 classrooms to be open by September 2024 and, over time, the program will grow to 8 classrooms, with enrollment building as staffing allows.
As part of a system of child care centers operated by Campus Child Care (CCC) on Harvard’s campuses, WACC will offer priority to families affiliated with the university as well as to a limited number of families who live in the 02134 and 02135 zip codes. Families who reside in these zip codes ― and who are not eligible for any other Harvard scholarship ― may apply for a means-tested childcare subsidy. For more information, please email the Harvard Office of Work/Life.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide high-quality early education and care for young children, offer support for the varied needs of families and create a community of care surrounding each child. Program staff and families will work together to support the development of individual children within their classroom groups. The facility, completed in 2019 and opened as Western Avenue Children’s Center in 2023, was designed to offer spaces for community gatherings and small group work, active play, STEM learning opportunities, and creative studio experiences.
